Jayne Chen is an acupuncturist and herbalist licensed by the California licensed by CCAOM, and nationally certified by NCCAOM. She specializes in pain management, both acute and chronic injuries, as well neurological conditions. Additionally, she addresses cases in stress management, sleep disorders, digestive and general health and wellness. Adjunct specialties are in Temporal-Mandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJD), as well as Lymphatic Drainage education for cancer patients.
Orthopedic Acupuncture treatments may include electroacupuncture, laser acupuncture, trigger point needling (aka dry needling), cupping, moxa, and gua-sha. Jayne integrates previous experience in manual modalities such as Myofascial Release Work (aka Connective Tissue massage), Active Release Therapy (ART), Craniosacral Therapy (CST). She includes gait analysis, orthopedic muscle testing, postural re-education, as well as herbal/supplement support when necessary.
Jayne earned her Master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine from American College of Traditional Medicine and completed externships at Capital Pacific Medical Center (CPMC), Lifelong-Berkeley Primary Care, and Zhejiang Medical University in Hangzhou, China. Prior to practicing Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Jayne earned a Bachelor’s from Evergreen State College in Health Science, Nutrition and Holistic Health. She is certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner, Medical Massage, Whole Food Integrative Nutrition, as well as an Institute of Functional Medicine candidate.
Concurrently, Jayne is a Doctoral candidate at Bastyr University working on a Capstone thesis in pain management. Additional experience at U.W. Harborview Medical Center internship providing electroacupuncture for pain management, part of a clinical study in the Pain and Anesthesia Department.
