Mission Bay Chiropractic...
I had gone to physical therapy for months to get my shoulder/back into gear after poor work ergonomics, however my back was still feeling off. I was hoping to find a chiropractor that was closer to my office than my home and found Mission Bay Chiropractic just down the street from my office. I met with Dr. Chuck who did an assessment of my range of motion along with lots of questions regarding pain, length of discomfort and so on.
After a few adjustments, I was feeling so much better. He even had me do awesome stretches and exercises like superman 1 & 2. I eventually got my cape cuz I'm awesome. I've been going ever since for monthly adjustments to keep me all limber and such which has helped. I've also gone in for an "emergency" visit which was more like a "Oh my god I slept wrong, my neck is killing me!!" visit. Either way, he tuned me up nicely.
Dr. Chuck is really thorough, more than my previous chiropractor. He remembers what you last talked about in your previous visit and isn't all new age-ish like you would think a typical chiropractor is. He's super down to earth, has a great sense of humor and enjoys homemade cookies, but also really cares about your well-being. I completely trust him which is huge.
In summary:
1 star - great SOMA location
1 star - thorough examination
1 star - super cool attitude
1 star - easy to get appointments, same day even
1 star - funny stretches & exercises names
1 star (if I could add another) - candies at the front desk!
1 star (again, if I could) - awesome music playing in the background (Bryan Adams was playing last time. Uber cool)
I am so happy that I found Mission Bay Chiropractic. Dr. Chuck Affatato has helped me greatly with a medial ligament injury on my left knee and plantar faciitis in my right foot.
When I went to him I was in so much pain that I thought I was going to have to have surgery. He diagnosed my problems right away and started a treatment plan that I could work on at home with massage, exercise, and stretching that really sped up my recovery.
His knowledge of my injuries was reassuring and his ability to explain my progress each visit helped me to not get discouraged with what I know is usually a long recovery. I am very confident about his abilities and trust his approach to improve my health.
Absolutely the best! Hands down...don't even look anywhere else. I had a severe back problem and felt like I could not breath. I had rib subluxation....Dr. Chuck Affatato saved me from all the pain and discomfort. He is the best!
I started seeing Dr. Chuck at the end of Dec. 2009 when I woke up one morning unable to move my neck without excruciating pain. I spent two days staying home from work and laying on the floor before I decided my pain was not going away on its own.
I was able to see Dr. Chuck the same morning I called. He spent over an hour evaluating and treating my pain, and I left that day with more mobility and less pain. I went back every day for the rest of the week, and by the end of that week I was feeling considerably better. I continued seeing Dr. Chuck for the next couple months treating an old car accident injury, and I now feel so much better and have strengthened my neck/back muscles greatly due to his treatment and take home exercises.
I am so grateful for the time Dr. Chuck took to evaluate my specific needs over the months I saw him. I have been to Chiropractors in years past (for car accidents and sport injuries), and I felt the treatment I received from them was very generic and impersonal, and they only helped temporarily if at all.I have never had a Chiropractor track my progress as intricately as Dr. Chuck has or spend as much time explaining why I feel the way I do and how to counteract the pain as he has.
I absolutely recommend Dr. Chuck for anyone looking for pain relief or anyone who is not entirely satisfied with the Doctor they are currently seeing.
Dr Chuck was amazing!!
I heard a pop on the left side of my back at the gym the other night. After two days of hoping the pain would just go away with little results I made an appointment at Mission Bay Chiropractic with Dr. Chuck Affatato. We discussed what I was doing when the "pop" occurred and then isolated the area with the pain. He then explained to me how the muscles and bones are connected in that area of my back. After some range of motion test and some hands on examining my back he informed me I had popped a rib.
After making the necessary adjustments to eliminate the pain he went over how to prevent it from re-occurring. He showed me several different stretches to ensure those muscles are properly warmed before I work out. He told me about different range of motion exercises I can do to strength the muscle area the affected to limit the possibility of another popping sound.
I knew from sitting and talking with Dr. Chuck my back was in good hands. He is very knowledge and has a calming presence to his personality. If your back hurts go see this man.
Thank you to all the patients who took the time to comment about their experiences with us. We are very grateful for the continued support and the encouraging words.
